The electric bass guitar is simply known as bass. This musical instrument is played primarily by using the fingers or thumb through tapping, plucking, popping, slapping, or thumping or with a plectrum.
The bass guitars look similar in appearance to an electric guitar, but they have a larger body with a longer neck and length. The bass guitars generally have four strings and these strings are tuned to the same pitches like the double bass that relates to the pitches (with one octave lower than the four lower strings - E, A, D and G. The bass guitar is notated in bass clef for avoiding the excessive use of ledger lines. Alike the electric guitar, the bass guitars are plugged into an amplifier and speaker when the artists give stage performances.
The electric bass guitars have replaced the double bass largely since the1950’s in pop music playing the role of bass instrument for the rhythm. The basslines played by the guitarist vary from one kind of music to another and the guitarist plays a similar role in all times: from anchoring the framework to lay down the beat. The bass guitars are used in many music styles like pop, rock, metal, blues, country and jazz. This guitar is used as a soloing instrument for fusion, jazz, funk, latin and also in some metal and rock styles.
History
Paul Tutmarc, a musician and inventor from Seattle developed the first electric bass instrument in1930. This bass guitar was fretted and designed to be played horizontally. This was a four-stringed, solid-bodied fretted bass guitar (30½-inch in length).
Bass Guitar Designs
The bass guitars bodies are generally made of wood with other materials like graphite is also been used. A wide range of woods is suitable to use for the neck, body, and fretboard of the guitar. Alder is the most common wood used for the body, Maple is used for the neck and Rosewood is used for the fretboard. The other used woods are ash, maple, mahogany and ebony.
Performing -
Most artists stand while playing bass guitars, but sitting is also accepted when in large ensemble settings like jazz big bands or folk music. Well, it’s a matter of personal preference as which position gives the greatest ease to the player. While sitting, the right-handed artists can balance the bass guitars on their right thigh or like the classical players place it on their left thigh.. Balancing the bass on the left thigh positions it in such a way that it mimics the standing position, allowing for less difference between the standing and sitting positions.
Today, there are a large number of people who play bass guitars as their hobby apart from the professionals. You can find many brands that sell bass guitars, but most of them are very costly. And because of this reason, people prefer to by bass guitars in less price or used bass guitars.

Guys, I wanted to share it with everyone here. This site is really great as I found no other place like this that sells quality instruments at such cheap prices. From the huge collection here, I searched for my favorite ESP bass guitars and luckily I also found it in my favorite color that I always wanted it with. I enjoy playing my guitar with my family whenever I have free time to spend.

The bass guitars are not as flashy as a drum kit or do not draw your attention, but you will really like the melodious sound of this instrument. I have two bought one bass guitar from this site and I am happy with my purchase.
