EpiPhone Acoustic Bass Guitars
The Epiphone Guitar Company was established in 1873 by Anastasios Stathopoulos. Later, in 1957, this company was bought by ‘Chicago Music Company’ who already had ‘Gibson Guitar Corporation’. Actually, Epiphone was the main rival of Gibson in the archtop market. So, they bought it over because of this special reason. At that time, Epiphone’s arch-tops like the Emperor, Broadway and Triumph rivaled those of Gibson. Apart from guitars, Epiphone was also engaged in making banjos, and other stringed instruments, but its weakness after the World War II let Gibson to take it over.
