ESP manufactures musical instruments and it is located in North Hollywood, California. ESP was established in 1975 by Hisatake Shibuya. Shibuya first opened a shop ‘Electric Sound Products’ (ESP) in Tokyo. This small shop provided custom parts for guitars. In just one year, the shop gained a reputation for providing high-quality replacement parts. Soon, began manufacturing guitars under the ESP and Navigator brand for the Japanese market.

In the US, the ESP replacement parts were introduced in 1983 for the first time. ESP began manufacturing custom instruments for local New York based artists like during 1984 and 1985. The artists were Page Hamilton (Helmet), Vinnie Vincent, Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Bruce Kulick (KISS) and Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones). In the US, ESP introduced the ’400 Series’ as its first production line. Later, ESP started making bodies and necks for other manufacturers like – Kramer Guitars, Robin Guitars, Schecter and DiMarzio. The famous ‘Tom Anderson’ shaved bolt-on neck on the Schecter bodies is done by ESP and it is very popular.

1. ESP Ltd. - In the ESP LTD range, take example of the LTD M100FM. This electric guitar features a reverse headstock and dual ESP LH humbuckers that delivers a broad tone. It has been carefully built with painstaking selection of materials & innovative design. It has a basswood body and a flamed maple top with a maple neck. It has a rosewood fret-board and 24 jumbo frets. This instrument has a Floyd Rose locking tremolo with black nickel hardware.

2. ESP 50 - The EX50 is an aggressively-styled instrument with a large and resonant body. It has ESP LH-150 humbuckers that deliver a tone that is very big. It is a very easy playing guitar with 22 extra jumbo frets. It has a rosewood fingerboard. It has an Agathis body with a rock solid ‘Tune-o-matic’ Bridge and a stop tailpiece. The body is made of basswood with maple Bolt-on neck and black nickel hardware.

3. ESP EC - The ESP EC-I000 guitar is made of a mahogany body and a select maple top. It has a rosewood fret board. The maple neck is extra thin and in ‘U’ shape with 24 extra jumbo frets. The playability is great. It has active pickups with plenty of power and note definition. There are two controls for volume and tone with a 3-way selector switch. It has a Floyd Rose Bridge and the scale length is 24.75”. The black nickel hardware and Abalone inlays finish makes it attractive.

4. ESP VIPER – The Viper model features Abalone flag inlays and binding on its neck and headstock that makes it very attractive. It ha a ‘Set-in’ neck with mahogany body and a flamed maple top. It has a 3 piece mahogany neck and a rosewood fret-board. It has 2 EMG-81 humbuckers and a 3-way switch. It has TonePros locking Bridge and a tailpiece. It has 24XJ frets.

5. ESP KIRK - The ESP LTD KH602 Kirk Hammett is an electric guitar featuring a Neck-thru design body made of an alder body. It is a 3-piece maple neck. This model is a powerful and versatile instrument with EMG 81 humbuckers. It has a double-locking Original Floyd Rose tremolo. The humbuckers deliver a sharp and high output with an incredible sustain. It has a rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra jumbo frets
