Gibson is one the most popular guitar companies in the world and actually, it comes just after ‘Fender’, the leading one.
Gibson manufactures quality instruments that are sold worldwide. They make all types of guitars – Electric Guitars Acoustic Guitars and Bass Guitars. ‘Les Paul’ is the legendary instrument from this company that is still sold in large numbers. The Company was established by ‘Orville Gibson’ who started with making mandolins from a small shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In the year of 1902, Orville started manufacturing guitars. Initially, he introduced started with the arch-top and truss rod neck design instruments.
Later in 1936, Gibson came up with the model ‘ES-150’ that had the sound that was never heard before. This instrument has magnetic pickups and an arch top design (F-hole). In those days, a popular guitarist ‘Charlie Christian’ used to play this guitar regularly and this instrument got a new name ‘Charlie Christian’ guitar. Then, in 1940, Gibson introduced a 3 pickup guitar for the first time in the history of guitars. Gibson is also credited for introducing the first sharply pointed cutaway top design.

1. Gibson Les Paul Studio – This guitar features a carved Mahogany body. There are 22 frets with the scale length of 24 and 3/4-inches and there is a Pearloid trapezoid inlays. 3. Gibson Firebird V – This instrument has a unique ‘reversed Zig-Zag’ design and a distinct headstock, the most recognizable guitar profile. It was first introduced in 1963 to join the line of solid-body electric guitars. The angle is set to 14 degrees to accommodate the radical contour of the headstock and for keeping the string pressure and there is no string loss between the nut and the tuners. Its Banjo-styled tuners are perfect for a ‘clearance’ between the tuner buttons that provides easy access and smooth tuning. It has great sound and tone.
4. Gibson Flying V – The Flying V model was first introduced in 1958 and since then it has been very popular. It features a Mahogany body and a rounded neck made of the same wood. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and 22 frets. It has Pearloid dots inlays, chrome hardware and 496R and 500T humbucking pickups. It is still considered a vintage guitar, despite many modern version have been launched since its first introduction. It has a dark and punchy tone with a fat low end and crunchy midrange. Popular artists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page have played it so many times.
5. Gibson Les Paul Traditional - This guitar has the sweet snarling sound. It features a Mahogany body and a set-in neck. It has a pair of ’57’s Classic humbucker pickups and the revolutionary Plek system (computer controlled set-up) used to measure the height between all the strings and the fingerboard eliminates the string buzz, resulting in ultimate playability. It has the vintage style speed knobs, chrome Tune-O-Matic Bridge and the classic Kluson-style tuners, all these give a classic look of the 80’s to this instrument. The fingerboard is made of rosewood wit 22 frets. It has White Plush interiors. It is perfect from every angle and melodious in sound.
