This musical instrument company focused producing quality guitars producing great sound at affordable prices. Jay Turser was acquired by ‘American Music and Sound’ in June 2006.

Jay Turser manufactures different types of guitars - double-neck, Flying V, hollow body arch-tops, Knock-Off (Les Paul), etc. These instruments come in different umber of necks, frets, pickups, and stings. The ‘Surf Master’ model of this company resembles the popular model Fender ‘Jaguar’.

These instruments are a combination of the established designs and modern concepts. There are many guitars of this Company that are copies of the popular brands like Gibson, Les Paul, Jazzmaster, and John Lennon model guitars.

Instruments of this company that have been manufactured after 2007 have the ‘Graph Tech NuBone’ nuts and saddles that give superior tuning and better tone. Also, now there is more string slotting in these guitars.

1. Jay Turser JT-RES – This is an electric guitar made of resonator body with maple neck. The fret board is made of rosewood. The sound of this instrument is amazing and the tone is in a good sustain. It features 1 piezo and 1 hum bucker with separate knobs for volume and tone. The translucent red finish and silver hardware makes it very attractive. It is a light weight guitar with a high action.

2. Jay Turser California – The California model looks and sounds great. It features 3 ‘Phantom’ single coil pickups with separate volume and tone controls. It has a 5 way switch located between the volume and tone knobs. It has 22 frets on the maple neck. The solid body has a dark rosewood fret-board and due to the ‘ramped’ contour, it is in a shape with a bolt-on neck. It has a two-ply pearloid pick-guard and a truss rod cover. The sound is melodious to the ears and it perfect for blues and rock.

3. Jay Turser J-900 Resonator – This is a hollow body guitar. This acoustic electric guitar sounds loud when unplugged. It has piezo pickup and magnetic pickup with separate volume and tone controls and a blend control in the center. The set-in neck with a rosewood fret-board makes it look very cool. If you talk of sound, the mix of magnetic and piezo pickups deliver excellent result.

4. Jay Turser JT Hawk - This solid body guitar features 22 frets with a 25.5″ scale of neck. There are two hum-buckers, a 3 way switch and a good switching system. It has one volume and one tone control for both pickups. The body is solid, yet incredibly light.
The neck is made of maple and fret-board is made of rosewood. Its neck is thin and wide and has a satin finish that looks cool. It sounds like a guitar equipped with hum-bucker guitar, but that is not an issue. But, the pickups sound ‘microphonic’ when it is cranked.
There are numerous flaws and most of them are covered with by the silver sparkles.

5. Jay Turser JT-134DC – This instrument has a Double cut style body. It has 2 hum-buckers, 2 volume and 2 tone controls. There is a glossy tobacco sunburst finish that makes it super cool. The laminated body is made of flame maple veneer. It has its Headstock on the thin side and the neck is very slim. The frets are medium size and fret-board is made of rosewood. It has binding all over the body, neck and headstock. The sound is louder than a regular solid body guitar and you will notice a low end at the f-holes. You will perform better if you plug it in.
